The Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) by action research or case research is a work applied professional doctorate programme for managers and senior professionals offered by the Gibaran Graduate School of Business (GGSB). The focus of the DBA by action research or case research, is on making a contribution to management practice and/or policy, unlike the PhD research which focuses on a significant contribution to theoretical knowledge.

This is a work-applied professional doctorate programme that uses practical case research methods to produce a thesis about management practices. It captures the features of a PhD which are precision of thought and expression and an awareness of what others have previously written about a topic.

The GGSB DBA programme has three modules of ‘activities’ in which candidates are carefully guided through the steps of producing a doctoral thesis.

Candidates can exit the programme with a Graduate Certificate in Management (Research) or Graduate Diploma in Management (Research) after the first and second modules if they wish.

The DBA is undertaken in Adelaide.
