DBA: Entry Requirements

Candidates entering the DBA program will normally have:

  • completed an MBA at Credit level Grade Point Average (GPA) with a research component;
  • 3–5 years of management or professional experience; and
  • submitted a Proposed Research Topic in an area acceptable to GGSB.

Applicants who have a Masters Degree without a research component or below Credit level GPA in a non-management field; or an honours degree will normally have to complete four MBA-type units at GLG or elsewhere, achieving a Credit level GPA.

Participants may be required to provide a letter of consent from their organisation confirming support for the proposed work-applied research over a period of 3 years.

English Requirements

Where the applicant’s medium of instruction (at a tertiary level) was not in English, the applicant must have obtained:
  • a score of 575 or better on the TOEFL;
  • a score of 6.5 or better on the IELTS;
  • a credit or better in English in the GCE ‘O’ or ‘A’ levels or equivalent; or
  • any other evidence of proficiency in English acceptable to GLG’s Registrar.

    • GGSB may require participants with insufficient knowledge of English to undertake an English language course at their own cost.
